Today (Maundy Thursday) marks the start of a long bank holiday weekend here in Iceland - five wonderfully long days to be precise. Weather permitting, some townsfolk will drive away from the city (aka Reykjavík) and head into the countryside for a sojourn in their holiday cabin while other hale and hearty souls will head north for skiing and other snow-bound activities. I suspect the weather, being grey, cold and rainy, will keep most people indoors, today at least.
For Chris and I, Easter is also a time of quiet reflection and family gatherings. Whatever your beliefs this Easter, I hope you experience blessing and peace, rest and recuperation and enough chocolate to see you through to the next Bank Holiday!
